Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Opending. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Opending screenplay writing platform, including the website, web application, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by the Opending team, based in Bandung, Indonesia.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or have obtained parental consent if between 13–17 years old) and that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms.

3. Service Description

Opending is a web-based screenplay writing tool that provides formatting, editing, and organizational features for scriptwriters. The Service is offered in both free and paid tiers. Free accounts have access to core writing features, while paid subscriptions ("Plus"/"Pro") may include additional capabilities such as cloud backup, version history, and advanced export options.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or part of the Service at our discretion, with reasonable notice for material changes to paid features.

4. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You may sign up using Google, or Apple authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and keep your account information updated.

5. License to Use the Service

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or professional writing purposes. This license does not include the right to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the Service's underlying code
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
• Use automated means (scraping, bots) to access the Service
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service itself

6. User Content and Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all screenplays, scripts, outlines, and other content you create using Opending ("User Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over your User Content.

By using the Service, you grant Opending a limited license to store, display, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your account or your User Content.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to the content you create and that it does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Create, upload, or share content that violates Indonesian law, including content that is obscene, defamatory, promotes hatred based on SARA (ethnicity, religion, race, or inter-group relations), or otherwise illegal
• Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Use the Service for spam, phishing, or fraudulent activities
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

8. Intellectual Property

The Service itself — including its code, design, UI/UX, branding, logos, and documentation — is owned by Opending and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Opending name, logo, or branding without prior written permission.

9. Payments and Subscriptions

Paid features, when available, are offered on a subscription basis. Pricing, billing cycles, and available payment methods are displayed on our pricing page. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees through our third-party payment processor.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

All payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indonesian law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Opending does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation of the Service.

In no event shall Opending be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim, or IDR 1,000,000 if you use the free Service.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Opending and its team members from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, without prior notice for serious violations. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Your User Content will be deleted within 30 days. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bandung, Indonesia.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
